GCC presents Myra McEntire

Woot! Have you guys noticed that there are a lot of fantastic books being released lately? And now I’ve got another one for you because today I’m touring Myra McEntire and her wonderful new book, Timepiece, which is the sequel to Hourglass.

Kaleb Ballard was never supposed to be able to see ripples—cracks in time. Are Kaleb’s powers expanding, or is something very wrong? Before Kaleb can find out, Jonathan Landers, the man who tried to murder his father, reappears. Why is he back, and what, or whom, does he want?
In the wake of Landers’s return, the Hourglass organization is offered an ultimatum by a mysterious man. Either they find Landers and the research he has stolen on people who might carry the time gene, or time will be altered—with devastating results for the people Kaleb loves most.

Now Kaleb, Emerson, Michael, and the other Hourglass recruits have no choice but to use their extraordinary powers to find Landers. But where do they even start? And when? Even if they succeed, just finding him may not be enough. . . .

See, told you it sounded amazing and now it’s time to put Myra through her paces:
1 How did you come up with the idea for this book?

It’s a sequel, and it started “talking” when I was in the middle of writing the first book.

2 What’s been your favorite author moment so far in your career?

When a blogger live tweeted while reading my book. Scary, but ultimately okay!

3 It’s Oscar speech time! Who are the three people that you would most like to thank for helping you write this book?

Ninja Agent Holly Root

Excellent Editor Regina

Husband Extraordinaire

4 Describe a typical writing day

During the school year it’s while the kiddos are gone, summer is … just crazy all around. (this sounds all too familiar!)

5 Tell me one strange random fact about this book.

I use a rather famous ghost from Memphis. I hope someone picks up on it.

(Oh, a ghost is an excellent strange random fact!)

Phew. I’ve just got back from Voices on the Coast festival where I got to meet so many amazing authors, students and librarians. I talked myself hoarse and I’m pretty sure that far too many students are now handing in author essays that begin, Amanda Ashby hates bananas and watches too much television… But I… Read More
